FIRST IT SEEMS IN THE NYC TOWN HALL MEETING THAT THIS IDEA IS ALREADY BEIN PERFECTED but just repeating this 2001 idea just incase it helps)

IDEA: Clone Docking.

Create a file area of 20 to 40 MB.

Files will be placed in this folder / cloning area when OWNERs / selected MODERATORs tic (on) the files "allow to clone" tic box.

Here an explanation:
GROUP OWNER #1 views GROUP #2s files and likes certain images of classic car tire rims. His/Her group is about classic cars and she/he wishes to present those images to his/her members. Instead of copying each image or at best dragging and dropping each image he/she goes to GROUP #2s CLONE FOLDER and notices the images she/he liked are in there.
 
NOW ONLY ACTIVE** GROUP OWNERS CAN SEE THE CLONE TIC box around clone areas.

OWNER #1 sees such a tic box around the folder of she/he liked and tics active the clone box and drags and drops the entire area's OUTLINE over to his/her group to any of its folders.
 GROUP #2s OWNER in 24 hours receives via eMail that GROIP OWNER #1 wishes to clone dock his/her files and decides to allow this or not.

If no or GROUP OWNER #2 does not respond within a week GROUP OWNER#1 receives such message or in red letters views a message where he/she dropped the clone dock folders as "no" or other owner "has not responded". If the latter occurs he/she can try again.

  If yes then in the area where OWNER #1 dropped the clone docking area, appears those files.

 Now the cloned folder should appear for a short period of time oh like 2 weeks to a month, this period can be selected by all owners, but the owner of the files being moved time limit supercedes the time limit of where the files where cloned to UNLESS that time is less than that of the original uploader, except in Puerto Rico and Alaska...your mileage may vary and appear bigger in the mirror ... got carried away.

This creates two benefits for yahoo:
    (1) It makes owners become more creative knowing that interest might help them by other group checking out their files.

    (2) Instead of yahoo member becoming frustrated in not finding similar group ... (see  "drop down flash under group title" idea WHEN POSTED - 20081120) ... by OWNERS clone docking their members see new files PLUS the original uploader of the files GETS HIS/HER LINK presented under the clone docked images in the case above OWNER #1s site area where the clones from OWNER #2's files are placed has OWNER #2s GROUP LINKED so he/she also gets new attention.

    (2.5) Being that whomever clone docks already uploaded by identified owner files gets both owners linked back to receive more exposure to both groups members those whom might try spamming will be Identified thus easier to block.

 Its a win,win,rain delay,tie,win situation ... just a bit of humor thrown in.
